Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.1.4.1.1 - List the effects of technology on the community.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define technology and give at least three examples of technology used in their community.
- List at least four positive effects of technology on the community (including health care, education, manufacturing, and agriculture).
- List at least four negative effects of technology on the community (including resource depletion, pollution, privacy, and security).
- Sort given effects of technology into positive and negative categories with at least 80% accuracy.
- Share one personal observation of how technology affects daily life in their community during a class discussion.
This lesson builds on earlier weeks where learners were introduced to the concept of technology and its presence in the community. It focuses only on listing the effects. The deeper discussion on how technology saves lives (B5.1.4.1.3) and a fuller discussion of effects (B5.1.4.1.4) will be handled in later slots.
