Indicator: B4.2.10.1.2 - Write short summary of a level-appropriate passage/text read
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the main ideas in a level-appropriate passage and mark them out.
- Write a short summary of a passage in their own words, keeping the main ideas.
- Use the key steps of summarising (read, identify main ideas, note key points, write in own words) in order.
- Compare a summary with the original passage to check they have not copied whole sentences.
- Present a written summary of a paragraph to a partner or small group for feedback.
