By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Read a level-appropriate passage and identify the main idea in each paragraph.
Restate the main points of a passage in a few words orally.
Use their own words to give a short oral summary of a passage, without copying sentences from the text.
Distinguish between important details and unimportant details when summarising a text.
Present an oral summary to the class with clarity and confidence.
