Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: B3.1.4.1.2 - Tell parallel stories

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain what a parallel story is and how it keeps the main pattern of an original story while changing some details.
  2. Identify the key parts of a story they have heard (characters, setting, events, ending) and describe how to change them to create a parallel story.
  3. Work with a group to compose a simple parallel story based on a model story told by the teacher.
  4. Present their parallel story to the class with clear pronunciation and appropriate expression.
  5. Give and receive simple, kind feedback on group stories, focusing on what was kept the same and what was changed.
