Learning Objectives

Indicator: B3.1.4.1.3 - Create own events to extend stories heard

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. retell the main events of a familiar story, such as Ananse and the wisdom pot, using sequence words like first, next, then and finally.
  2. create at least two new events that continue the story after its original ending.
  3. work with a partner to agree on new events and decide how they fit into the story.
  4. share their extended story with the class, speaking clearly and audibly.
  5. listen politely to others’ story extensions and respond with one relevant comment or question.
