Learning Objectives

Indicator: B2.1.4.1.2 - Retell stories sequentially, following story structure (beginning, middle and ending)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Recall the main characters from the story told in the previous lesson and state one thing each character did.
  • Arrange picture cards or sentence strips of a familiar story in the correct order (beginning, middle, ending).
  • Retell the story “Ananse and the Pot of Soup” in their own words, keeping the beginning, middle and ending in the correct sequence.
  • Identify the moral lesson of the story and share how it applies to their own lives at home or in school.
  • Use time sequence words such as “first”, “then”, “next” and “finally” when retelling the story.
