Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.1.2.LI.7 - Apply basic skills in performing individual and team sports (e.g., volleyball - underarm serve and digging reception in volleyball).
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Describe the correct stance, hand positioning, and body movement for performing the underarm serve in volleyball.
- Demonstrate the underarm serve technique with correct foot placement, ball toss, and contact point.
- Describe the ideal body position, hand positioning, and movement for digging a volleyball.
- Demonstrate the digging reception technique with proper stance and forearm contact.
- Work collaboratively in mixed-ability and mixed-gender groups to practise both skills and give constructive feedback to peers.

Collaborative learning: In a circular formation, learners in mixed-ability and mixed-gender groupings practice the underarm serve technique. Learners practice the techniques for digging; the stance, hand positioning and body movement. Assessment (2.1.2.AS.7): Level 2: Describe the ideal body position and movement for the executing an underarm serve in volleyball. Level 3: Demonstrate how to perform one of the skills learnt in volleyball.
