Indicator: B5.2.4.2.4

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain in their own words what a side orientation is when striking a ball from a batting tee.
  2. State at least three purposes of using a side orientation when striking a ball from a batting tee (accuracy, speed, direction, spinning).
  3. Demonstrate a side orientation stance and strike a ball from a batting tee with correct body positioning.
  4. Compare the results of striking a ball with a side orientation versus a front-facing stance.
  5. Communicate the reasons for using a side orientation to a partner using appropriate physical education vocabulary.
