Learning Objectives
Indicator: B4.2.3.2.3 - Identify body parts that are used for kicking a ball.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and name the main body parts used for kicking a ball (foot, ankle, knee, leg, and hip) and state that the hands are not used for kicking.
- Demonstrate the ready position by standing with legs opened and knees slightly bent before kicking.
- Perform a controlled kick using the correct body part (inside of the foot) at a stationary ball.
- Explain in their own words why the foot is more effective than the hand for kicking a ball.
- Use correct vocabulary (ready position, kicking foot, supporting foot, follow-through) when describing their actions during practice.
