Learning Objectives

Indicator: B3.2.5.2.7 - Explain the similar movement elements of the underhand throw and the underhand volleyball serve.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the four similar movement elements of the underhand throw and the underhand volleyball serve (stance, flexing of knees, hand swing, follow through).
  2. Demonstrate the underhand throw and the underhand volleyball serve side by side, pointing out each similar movement element as they perform it.
  3. Explain in their own words why the stance and knee flexion are important in both skills.
  4. Compare and contrast the underhand throw and the underhand volleyball serve using a simple verbal or drawn explanation.
