Learning Objectives
Indicator: B2.2.2.2.2 - Distinguish between ‘a hop and a jump’.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Verbally state at least one difference between a hop and a jump.
- Perform a hop by taking off on one foot and landing on the same foot.
- Perform a jump by taking off with both feet and landing on both feet.
- Identify, by watching a classmate, whether the action shown is a hop or a jump.
- Apply the correct word (hop or jump) to describe their own movement when asked by the teacher.

Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)
Hopping involves taking off on one foot and land on the same foot. Jumping also involves taking off with both feet and land on both feet. Galloping involves moving one leg leading and the other is rapidly brought forward to it whiles sliding is one count movement to the side.
