Songs
Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: B4.1.1.1.2
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- listen to and sing two selected songs accurately (the National Anthem and “Ten Galloping Horses Came Through the Town”)
- identify at least three values or lessons taught by each song
- discuss in small groups why these values are important for daily life
- give one example of how to practise a song’s value at home or in school
- express a personal opinion about which value from the songs matters most to them and why
This lesson builds on the previous slot (B4.1.1.1.1), where learners listened to songs and sang them with appropriate stress, rhythm and actions. It opens the discussion of song values and stops short of composing or adapting songs, which belongs to later weeks.
