Solid Geometry
Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.2.2.LI.3 - Design artefact using the concept of curve of intersection.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least three everyday artefacts whose forms depend on the curve of intersection between two solids.
- Apply the curve of intersection technique to design a functional or decorative artefact from given specifications.
- Construct an accurate working drawing of an artefact showing the curve of intersection between its component solids.
- Justify design choices, explaining how the curve of intersection affects the strength, aesthetics, or function of the finished artefact.
- Produce a finished artefact (model or detailed drawing) to an acceptable standard of accuracy, assessed against given criteria.
