Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.2.2.LI.2 - Manipulate drawings CAD tools through editing and plotting techniques.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify at least eight editing or modifying tools in the AutoCAD modify panel and state the function of each tool.
Demonstrate the correct use of the Trim, Extend, Offset, and Mirror tools to edit a given plane figure in AutoCAD.
Apply the Move, Rotate, Scale, and Copy tools to reposition and resize objects within a drawing to meet specified dimensions.
Produce a plotted (printed or PDF) output of an edited drawing using the correct plot settings, including paper size, scale, and orientation.
Justify the choice of a particular editing tool for a given drawing task, explaining why it is more efficient than alternative tools.
