Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.8.1.1.1 - Écouter, comprendre et réagir à une conversation / une présentation dans laquelle l’on situe un évènement dans le futur (Réception orale / Compréhension de l’oral)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify at least three verbs in the futur proche (je vais + infinitif) and three verbs in the futur simple when listening to an audio recording or a teacher-led presentation about future events.
Distinguish between the futur proche (near future, e.g. demain, ce soir) and the futur simple (distant future, e.g. l’année prochaine, dans dix ans) based on time markers they hear.
Answer comprehension questions in French or English (as directed by the teacher) after listening to a short conversation about what someone will do in the future.
React appropriately to a future-time question by giving a short verbal or non-verbal response that shows understanding (e.g. nodding, answering oui/non, or completing a sentence frame).
Complete a listening discrimination exercise in which they identify specific future verb forms and time expressions from a recorded text.
