Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.2.8.1.2 - Find meaning of words as used in context
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify unfamiliar words in a silently read passage and underline them.
- Use surrounding words, sentences, and clues in the text to infer the meaning of unfamiliar words.
- Match target vocabulary from the passage to their correct meanings based on how the words are used in the text.
- Write one original sentence for each of three target words, showing the word used correctly in a new context.
- Explain how the same word can take on different meanings in different sentences, using examples from the passage.
