Learning Objectives

Indicator: B4.2.8.1.3 - Answer questions based on the passage read

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Read a short passage silently and independently for meaning.
  2. Answer literal questions by identifying and reading out exact sentences from the passage.
  3. Answer inferential questions by combining clues in the passage with their own reasoning.
  4. Give accurate and specific answers to questions, using complete sentences.
  5. Use the three-step questioning routine: listen to the question, think quietly, then respond when called upon.

- In asking questions, follow the steps below:
- Pose the question.
- Give learners time to reflect.
- Call a learner to answer the question.
- Learners give accurate and specific answers to questions. (You could do it orally sometimes). They may read out portions of the text where the answers are found.
- Ask different types of levels of questions.
