Learning Objectives

Indicator: B3.5.2.5.2 - Use appropriate cues for movement and positive words of encouragement while coaching others in physical activities.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Identify at least three short, clear movement cues (such as “bend your knees,” “swing your arms,” or “look ahead”) used during common physical activities.
  • Demonstrate giving a movement cue to a partner during a simple physical activity such as skipping, hopping, or throwing.
  • Use at least two positive words or short phrases of encouragement (such as “well done,” “keep going,” or “you can do it”) when coaching a partner.
  • Distinguish between helpful and unhelpful comments when watching a classmate perform a movement task.
  • Work with a partner to practise and improve one movement skill using cues and encouragement.
