Learning Objectives

Indicator: B1.5.3.5.3 - Demonstrate non-verbal appreciation.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least three different ways to show non-verbal appreciation, such as clapping, nodding, smiling, or giving a thumbs up.
  2. Demonstrate clapping and other non-verbal gestures to appreciate a peer after a physical activity performance.
  3. Respond to a peer’s performance by clapping immediately and appropriately during paired and group activities.
  4. Explain in simple words why showing appreciation without talking is important for making others feel happy and encouraged.
  5. Show fair-play and good social behaviour by using non-verbal appreciation with peers of different abilities and backgrounds during physical activity.
