Learning Objectives
Indicator: B4.1.1.2.1 - Saluer et répondre oralement aux salutations en respectant le code et les valeurs sociaux
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Greet someone formally and informally using “Bonjour” with the appropriate title (Monsieur, Madame) or first name.
- Ask “Comment vas-tu ?” (informal) and “Comment ça va ?” (formal) to inquire about someone’s wellbeing.
- Respond to greetings with “Je vais bien, merci” or “Ça va bien, merci” and return the question using “et toi ?” or “et vous ?”.
- Use appropriate leave-taking expressions such as “Au revoir”, “À bientôt” and “À demain” depending on when they will next see the person.
- Distinguish between formal (vous) and informal (tu) address and apply the correct form when greeting teachers, elders and friends.
