Learning Objectives

Indicator: B4.1.1.2.1 - Saluer et répondre oralement aux salutations en respectant le code et les valeurs sociaux

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Greet someone formally and informally using “Bonjour” with the appropriate title (Monsieur, Madame) or first name.
Ask “Comment vas-tu ?” (informal) and “Comment ça va ?” (formal) to inquire about someone’s wellbeing.
Respond to greetings with “Je vais bien, merci” or “Ça va bien, merci” and return the question using “et toi ?” or “et vous ?”.
Use appropriate leave-taking expressions such as “Au revoir”, “À bientôt” and “À demain” depending on when they will next see the person.
Distinguish between formal (vous) and informal (tu) address and apply the correct form when greeting teachers, elders and friends.
