Learning Objectives

Indicator: B3.2.1.1.1 - Name the sacred scriptures of the three major religions.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name the three major religions practised in Ghana: Christianity, Islam, and Traditional Religion.
  2. Identify the sacred scripture associated with each religion: the Holy Bible (Christianity), the Holy Qur’an and Hadith (Islam), and the Sacred Myths, parables and taboos (Traditional Religion).
  3. Match each sacred scripture to its correct religion when shown examples or pictures.
  4. Recite or retell a simple text from one sacred scripture, such as Psalm 23, Al-Fatihah, or a traditional parable.
  5. Write a short, simple text or saying from one of the sacred scriptures.
