Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.1.5.LI.1 - Discuss the different types of recreational activities in Physical Education.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define recreational activities in their own words and distinguish them from obligatory or work-related activities.
- Identify and classify at least four types of recreational activities (physical, social, creative, and outdoor) giving a clear example of each.
- Explain the rules of at least one selected recreational activity to peers.
- Demonstrate through role-play how a selected recreational activity is performed.
- Use digital tools to research and present information about a recreational activity of their choice.

Digital-based Learning: Learners use their digital devices to research the meaning of recreational activities. They prepare a PowerPoint which will be followed by class discussions. In mixed-ability groups, learners research the different types of recreational activities and create an informative poster on a selected one. Role-Play: Learners role-play recreational activities where each group demonstrates a selected activity and explains its rules. Assessment (3.1.5.AS.1): Level 1: Explain recreational activities Level 2: Describe at least three types of recreational activities Level 3: Select one recreational activity, demonstrate how it is performed and explain its rules. Level 4: Select one recreational activity and suggest how it can be modified to make it more interesting. Teaching and Learning Resources: - Online resources - Pictures/charts - Phones/laptops - Projectors - Showing or exhibiting opportunities in Physical Activities and Health. - Videos - Textbooks - Any other relevant materials. - Any other equipment found in the community fit for purpose
