Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.3.2.1.1 - Identify the major steps that enhance the comprehension of a given text.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

List the four major steps to enhance comprehension of a given Arabic text: breaking up the reading into smaller sections, deducing meaning from context, checking vocabulary, and looking for the main idea.
Apply the step of breaking a text into smaller sections by dividing a short Arabic passage about the school environment into meaningful parts.
Use context clues to deduce the meaning of unfamiliar Arabic words and phrases in the passage مدرسة نظيفة.
Identify and explain the main idea of the school passage after applying the comprehension steps.
Work in pairs and groups to read, discuss, and demonstrate the comprehension steps using the given passage.
