Learning Objectives
Indicator: K2.1.6.1.6 - Sort out objects by their length, colours and shapes and compare their numbers using words such as more than, less than, equal to.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Sort a collection of everyday objects into groups by one attribute: colour, shape, or length.
- Count the number of objects in each sorted group and say the matching number aloud.
- Compare two groups of objects using the words “more than”, “less than” and “equal to”.
- Use the signs <, >, and = to show which group has more, less, or the same number of objects.
- Work with a partner or small group to sort, count, and compare objects, explaining their thinking in simple sentences.
