Learning Objectives
Indicator: K2.1.6.1.4
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the letter-sound of the week (Letter S, sound /s/) in words related to protecting ourselves from road accidents and harmful strangers.
- Write the letter S/s boldly and legibly in their exercise books, following the teacher’s demonstration.
- Write the key word “STOP” in their exercise books, tracing the letters on the correct lines.
- Say the /s/ sound when they see the letter S and point to at least one road safety word that begins with it.
- Listen to a road safety word and tell the teacher whether it begins with the /s/ sound or not.

(Procedure for teaching letter sounds each week: (see K2 .1.1.1.5 ) * Rapidly revise the letter sounds learnt so far. * Follow the procedure as in K2 .1.1.1.5 to continue teaching the letter-sound for the week. * Writing: Teacher models writing the letter in the air, have learners take turns with her/him writing in the air and then on their friends back, on their arms and finally write the letter sound and its key word in their exercise book. * Guide learners to write the letters on the blue and red lines in their exercise books.
