Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.1.3.LI.2 - Analyse the concept of ethics in Art and Design
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define ethics in Art and Design in their own words, distinguishing it from the broader concept of professional practice covered in Week 11.
- Identify at least four ethical issues that artists and designers commonly face in their work (such as plagiarism, copyright infringement, misrepresentation, and fair compensation).
- Explain the importance of ethics in building trust between artists, clients, and the public, using examples from Ghanaian art and design settings.
- Analyse a real or hypothetical ethical dilemma in an art or design scenario and propose a justified ethical response, showing reasoning at Depth of Knowledge Levels 2 and 3.
- Evaluate the consequences of unethical behaviour in Art and Design practice on individual careers and the wider creative industry in Ghana, demonstrating Level 4 strategic and extended thinking.
