Indicator: B6.1.10.3.4 - Support ideas and points of view with concrete examples to convey meaning appropriate to purpose and context. Provide sample speech topics
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify concrete examples that support a given point of view in a short speech or passage.
- Explain why concrete examples make a speech clearer and more convincing than vague statements alone.
- Match sample speech topics to appropriate concrete examples drawn from personal experience, school life, or the local community.
- Add at least two concrete examples to support a given point of view on a sample speech topic.
- Present a short speech (about 1 minute) that states a point of view and supports it with at least two concrete examples.
