By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and describe the difference between a story read with good pace, stress and tone and one read poorly.
- Explain how pace, stress and tone help to convey meaning and emotion in a story read aloud.
- Read a short paragraph or story aloud with appropriate pace, stress and tone to communicate meaning clearly.
- Listen to a peer’s reading and give simple feedback on pace, stress and tone.
- Reflect on their own reading and adjust their voice to match the mood of different parts of a story.
