Indicator: B4.1.10.1.3 - Demonstrate awareness of how meaning is conveyed through appropriate pace, stress, tone - through stories read aloud

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and describe the difference between a story read with good pace, stress and tone and one read poorly.
  2. Explain how pace, stress and tone help to convey meaning and emotion in a story read aloud.
  3. Read a short paragraph or story aloud with appropriate pace, stress and tone to communicate meaning clearly.
  4. Listen to a peer’s reading and give simple feedback on pace, stress and tone.
  5. Reflect on their own reading and adjust their voice to match the mood of different parts of a story.
