Learning Objectives
Indicator: B4.1.10.1.2 - Demonstrate awareness of the differences between spoken and written forms of language e.g. simple and complex sentence structures
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify whether a given sentence is in spoken or written form based on its structure and features.
- Convert a simple spoken sentence into a more complete written sentence by adding subjects, verbs and connectors.
- Explain one key difference between how we speak and how we write (e.g. spoken language is often shorter, written language is more complete).
- Use both spoken and written forms correctly in a short paired activity.
- Sort given sentences into two groups: spoken forms and written forms, giving a reason for each choice.
