Indicator: B4.1.10.3.5 - Use effective introductions and conclusions

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the three key parts of an effective introduction: greeting, attention-getter and statement of topic.
  2. Identify the two key parts of an effective conclusion: summary of main points and a strong closing thought.
  3. Sort given sentences into introduction and conclusion categories with at least 80% accuracy.
  4. Write a short introduction and conclusion for a speech on a familiar topic, such as their school or community.
  5. Present a one-minute speech using a clear introduction and conclusion to a small group.
