Learning Objectives
Indicator: B1.4.1.1.1 - Make given patterns, trace and draw various objects
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify vertical, horizontal and oblique strokes by name and by sight
- Make vertical, horizontal and oblique strokes in the air with correct arm movement
- Trace given stroke patterns on paper, following the direction of the arrows or dots
- Draw vertical, horizontal and oblique strokes in their exercise books with correct posture and pencil grip
- Create a simple object (such as a ladder or a fence) by combining the stroke patterns they have practised

- Demonstrate vertical, horizontal and oblique strokes/patterns. e.g. /// \\\ - Let learners write these strokes/patterns in the air. - Have learners write them in their books Note: If need be, learners may first make these strokes by tracing and/or joining dots. Ensure correct sitting posture and correct grip of the writing tool.
The stroke patterns are drawn on the page: three vertical strokes, three horizontal strokes and three more vertical strokes, followed by the oblique strokes /// \\\ which are the only part the text layer carries. The figure shows all of them.
