Learning Objectives
Indicator: K1.6.6.1.6 - Classify objects and count the number of objects in each category up to 9.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Sort pictures of fruits and vegetables into groups based on their type (for example, all oranges together, all carrots together).
- Count the number of objects in each sorted group accurately up to 9.
- Match each sorted group with the correct numeral card from 1 to 9.
- Say the total number of objects in each group clearly using number words (for example, “six oranges”).
- Work with a partner to sort, count and match a mixed collection of fruit and vegetable picture cards.
