Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.6.5.1.2 - Use a variety of new vocabulary learnt about plants to create an informational text for reading using LEA

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name at least four parts of a plant (roots, stem, leaves, flowers) using new vocabulary words.
  2. Dictate simple sentences about how plants give us food and medicine in response to teacher-led questions about the farm poster.
  3. Identify the new vocabulary words (plant, food, medicine, roots, leaves, seeds, stem, flower) in the shared LEA text when the teacher points to them.
  4. Contribute one original sentence about plants and food or medicine during the group story-building activity.
  5. Listen attentively to the completed LEA text read aloud and track the words from left to right on the big sheet.

Learners observe the conversational poster # 19, On the farm and with leading questions, have them create and dictate simple sentences orally and the teacher writes the story for them. Add few more contents and copy onto a big sheet and use that as a reading text
