Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.6.5.1.6 - Draw and label the parts of a plant

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the main parts of a flowering plant (root, stem, leaf, flower) when shown a real plant or a picture.
  2. Draw a simple plant using a pencil or crayon, showing at least four distinct parts.
  3. Label the parts of their drawn plant by copying or tracing the correct name under each part.
  4. Match the correct name card to the correct part on their drawing.
  5. Talk about what each part does, using vocabulary learnt in Week 5 (for example, “the root holds the plant in the soil”).
