Learning Objectives
Indicator: K1.6.5.1.4 - Use a variety of new vocabulary learnt about plants to make simple sentences, draw and write the initial letter sounds.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and say the initial letter sounds of plant vocabulary words (r, s, l, f) with accuracy.
- Use plant vocabulary words (root, stem, leaf, flower) to make simple oral sentences.
- Draw simple pictures of plant parts and write the initial letter sound next to each part.
- Match plant parts to their correct initial letter sounds in a matching activity.
- Participate in a “Letter Hunt” game by finding objects or pictures that begin with the same sounds as plant parts.

Using a clearly labelled tree, recap lessons on the parts of tree and take learners through the keywords, guide them to identify the initial letter sounds. Have learners play "Show and tell" or "Letter hunt" to highlight the initial sound of the words. Ask learners to draw and indicate the initial letter sounds of the parts.
