Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.2.2.2.1 - Experiment with available performing arts media and techniques to create performing artworks based on own views, knowledge and understanding of artworks produced by some international performing artists
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Describe the performing arts techniques and styles of at least three international artists studied, such as Michael Jackson, Bright Okpocha (Basket Mouth), Bob Marley and Eddie Murphy.
- Experiment with two or more available performing arts media (voice, body movement, rhythm, facial expression) to create short performance pieces inspired by the international artists studied.
- Create an original short performance of their own that combines techniques borrowed from an international artist with their own ideas and views.
- Share their experimental performances with peers and give and receive constructive feedback during a peer review session.
- Explain in their own words how their own views and experiences shaped the performance they created, showing understanding that art can be personal and original.
