Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.2.2.2.3 - Generate ideas for creating own performing artworks that reflect topical issues in the world

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. identify at least three topical issues currently of concern in the world from provided pictures, videos, news clippings or simple internet searches.
  2. brainstorm and list at least five concepts for music, dance, drama or poems that could educate the public about a chosen topical issue.
  3. choose one concept and explain, in one or two sentences, how it can be developed into a performing artwork to sensitise the public.
  4. present a concept to peers for review and give constructive feedback on at least one classmate’s concept.
  5. revise their original concept using feedback received from peer review.

Learners are to:
- reflect on current topical issues of much concern in the world using available learning resources such as internet, libraries, videos, pictures, etc.;
- come out with concepts that are good for composing music, dance, drama and poems, etc. to educate and sensitise the public on the advantages and disadvantages of current topical issues of much concern in the world;
- present concepts for peer review;
- discuss, compare and share their experiences through jury and peer review;
- use the ideas or feedback from the peer review to improve upon the arrangements for own compositions.
