Learning Objectives

Indicator: B4.2.2.3.1 - Create own artworks using available performing arts media and techniques to express own views, knowledge and understanding of the history and culture of the people of Ghana

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Identify at least three events, figures, or practices from Ghanaian history and culture that can serve as inspiration for a performing artwork.
  • Select one historical or cultural idea and explain in one or two sentences what message or view they want to express through their artwork.
  • Choose appropriate performing arts media (music, dance, drama, poetry) and techniques (movement, rhythm, dialogue, chant) to create a short original piece on their chosen idea.
  • Rehearse and perform their own short composition in a group, using available materials as instruments or props.
  • Give and receive constructive feedback through a simple jury and peer review process, noting at least one strength and one area for improvement.
