Learning Objectives

Indicator: B2.2.2.2.2 - Make decisions to create own artworks from imagination based on performing artworks produced or performed in other communities in Ghana

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Identify at least two performing artworks from other Ghanaian communities (such as music, dance or drama) and state one feature of each that inspires their own creation.
  • Make at least three decisions about their own artwork, choosing the type of performance, the instrument or resource, and the theme or story to use.
  • Explain in one or two sentences why they chose a particular instrument, movement or story for their own artwork.
  • Create a short original performance (music, dance or drama) of about 30 seconds to 1 minute using available materials, based on ideas from another Ghanaian community.
  • Present their created artwork to the class and talk about the choices they made during the creative process.
