Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.1.1.4.3 - Demonstrate understanding of the difference in the sounds of the Arabic sun and moon letters in words associated with teaching and learning activities (الحروف الشمسية) (الحروف القمرية)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

State the meaning of sun letters (الحروف الشمسية) and moon letters (الحروف القمرية) and list the letters belonging to each group.
Listen to and hear the difference in pronunciation when the definite article ال is attached to a sun letter versus a moon letter.
Sort the 28 Arabic letters correctly into sun letters and moon letters when the teacher reads them aloud.
Pronounce words associated with classroom and school activities correctly, applying the rules for sun and moon letters.
Rewrite given words by adding the definite article ال, showing whether the lam is pronounced or fused/assimilated.
