Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.1.1.1.4 - Demonstrate understanding of the relationship between Arabic consonants/long vowel patterns and pronunciation.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify the three long vowels in Arabic (ا, و, ي) and produce their sustained sounds (/aa/, /uu/, /ii/) correctly in isolation and in CVC words.
Articulate CVC words containing long vowels with accurate pronunciation, distinguishing them from words with short vowels.
Read and pronounce words containing shaddah (ّ), demonstrating a doubled, strengthened consonant sound.
Differentiate between words with long vowels and words with shaddah by listening and responding correctly.
Apply correct pronunciation of long vowels and shaddah in simple Arabic words and phrases with teacher support.
