Learning Objectives
Indicator: B4.2.2.1.2 - Read single-syllable-words with taught consonant digraphs (sh-ship, ch-rich, ck-lock) and when reading continuous texts
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the consonant digraphs sh, ch and ck when they see them in single-syllable words.
- Blend the sounds of the digraphs with other letter sounds to read single-syllable words such as ship, rich and lock.
- Read a short continuous passage aloud, correctly pronouncing words that contain sh, ch and ck.
- Sort a list of given words into groups according to their digraph (sh, ch or ck).
- Point out words with the taught digraphs in a simple sentence or short text and say their sounds correctly.
