Learning Objectives
Indicator: B1.2.2.1.5 - Segment syllables/words into sounds.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Clap or tap the syllables in familiar two-syllable words such as pencil, baby and mother.
- Split given two-syllable words into their syllable parts (e.g. pencil = pen-cil).
- Say each sound in a word after separating it into syllables (e.g. pen = p-e-n).
- Read segmented words correctly and use at least three of them in simple spoken sentences.
- Work with a partner to segment new two-syllable words and check each other’s answers.
