Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.1.3.1.3 - Identify the rhyming sounds at the end of words and create more rhyming end of words

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Sing an action song about the parts of the body and clap when they hear rhyming sounds at the end of words.
Identify and say the rhyming sound at the end of words from the body song, such as “ear” and “hear”.
Match pairs of words that end with the same sound, such as “see” and “knee”.
Create at least two new words that rhyme with a given word, such as rhyming with “nose” or “toes”.
Demonstrate proper care of body parts while singing and reciting rhymes, such as pointing to the part they are cleaning or caring for.
