Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.5.5.1.3 - Lire, comprendre et réagir à un texte dans lequel l’on passe une commande (Réception écrite / Compréhension des écrits)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

1. Read aloud a short text or dialogue about placing an order with correct pronunciation and intonation.
2. Identify key vocabulary and expressions used in a written order (e.g., “je voudrais commander”, “livraison”, “payer à la livraison”) by underlining or listing them from a given text.
3. Answer comprehension questions in French or English that demonstrate understanding of who, what, when, where and how in an order text.
4. React to a written order text by making simple decisions or giving short responses (e.g., accepting, refusing, confirming an order) based on the information read.
5. Compare the French way of placing orders (mail, internet, telephone) with how orders are placed in Ghana, using simple sentences.

This lesson builds directly on Week 4, where learners listened to and produced oral orders (B9.5.5.1.1 and B9.5.5.1.2). It focuses on reading and understanding written orders, preparing learners for Week 6, where they will write their own order texts (B9.5.5.1.4).
