Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.2.1.LI.3 - Lire et réagir à un texte simple sur les évènements sociaux (Compréhension des écrits).

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify the type, source, and main topic of a simple written text about a social event such as a birthday, a family gathering, or a public holiday.
Scan a short text in French to locate specific factual details (who, what, when, where) about a social event.
Answer comprehension questions in French or English that demonstrate understanding of a text describing a social event, using vocabulary already learned in Weeks 12 and 13 (fêter, célébrer, inviter, aller à une fête).
React personally to a written text by expressing a simple opinion or preference about the event described, using sentence frames such as “Je pense que…” or “J’aime…”
Work cooperatively in mixed groups to share findings from a text and reach a common understanding, respecting the contributions of all members.
