Learning Objectives

Indicator: K1.3.3.1.6 - Write numeral 1 to 5 and represent them with different objects in the church, number of letters in a word etc.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Write numerals 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 correctly and legibly.
Count objects found in the church or mosque and represent the count with the correct numeral.
Count the number of letters in selected religious words (such as God, Amen, Bible, Quran) and match the word to the correct numeral.
Match number cards (1 to 5) to word cards that contain the same number of letters.
Use objects from their environment to make simple patterns that represent numerals 1 to 5.

Write selected words on the board. Have learners count number of letters in words. Have learners make simple sentences with the words in sentences. Using number cards, have learners identify words that have the same letters as the number card shown. Repeat the activity and then have match the words with the appropriate number. Have individual learner identify the numbers on cards and match it with correct numerals on another card. Have learners form patterns with the shapes representing the letters in words
