Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.5.1.1.1 - Describe the economic exchanges between Ghana and her neighbours

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name at least three neighbouring countries of Ghana (Togo, Burkina Faso, and Côte d’Ivoire) and state what they exchange with Ghana.
  2. Identify at least four types of goods and services exchanged between Ghana and her neighbours, giving specific examples of each.
  3. Describe at least two forms of economic exchange beyond trading goods, such as people crossing borders for work.
  4. Explain in writing at least two reasons why economic exchanges between Ghana and her neighbours are important for everyday life.
  5. Work in small groups to sort pictures or descriptions of goods into the correct neighbouring country where they are exchanged.
