Learning Objectives
Indicator: K1.2.2.1.7 - Draw a family tree that includes Grandpa and Grandma
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify Grandpa and Grandma as the parents of their own parents (Mummy and Daddy).
- Draw a simple family tree that includes themselves, their brothers and sisters, their parents, and Grandpa and Grandma.
- Point to and name each person on their family tree when asked by the teacher.
- Talk about their family tree with a partner, comparing the people and pictures they have drawn.
- Compare the number of boys and girls on their family tree using words like “more than”, “less than” or “same as”.

Have a sample family tree on the board and guide learners to draw their own. Using Pair share repeat, have learners talk about and compare their drawings. Learners in small groups, count and compare the number of girls and boys in their family tree using comparative language such as "more than", "less than" or "same as".
