Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.1.1.LI.4 - Utilise basic tools in desktop publishing to add pictures, text boxes, tables, word art, and picture frames to a publication.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the basic tools (pictures, text boxes, tables, word art, and picture frames) in the desktop publishing interface and state the purpose of each tool.
- Insert a picture into a publication using the Insert tab in desktop publishing software and resize or reposition it appropriately.
- Create a text box, type text into it, and format the text box (fill colour, border, and shape) to suit the publication design.
- Insert a table into a publication, enter data into the cells, and apply a table style to make the information clear and attractive.
- Design a one-page publication (for example, a flyer or announcement) that combines at least three of the tools: pictures, text boxes, word art, and picture frames.
